Heaven or Hell?

What Does God Require?

Through the years I have had many people ask me, “What does God want from me?" Frequently that question is being asked in the midst of a time of great sorrow or pain. But, even though the circumstances under which different people may pose the question, whether in good times or in tragedy, the real answer is always the same. Just believe!

Believe what? His Word! His Promise! His Provision! His Blessing! His Love! His Mercy! His Grace! The most definitive statement probably ever uttered by human lips was spoken by Jesus Himself from the cross just before He died. “It, Is, Finished!” Then...He died. Did you catch that? The Creator of all Heaven and Earth said, “It, Is, Finished!” At that very moment, the full measure of what He planned to do was accomplished. Our redemption was complete, right then and there. Now it is up to us...Just believe!

What does it mean to...Just believe? Example: Jesus says about you, that if you are a born-again believer, you have been given everything that pertains to Godliness and Righteousness in Jesus, right now! Do you at all times and in all circumstances feel in agreement with what our Lord says about you in that regard? Probably not. But, you are called upon to Just believe?. What about the reports that you are given regarding your health, your marriage, your children, your finances, your future by those of this world? Those seem like pretty bleak forecasts sometimes don't they? God, however, speaks differently regarding you and yours...He says that you will live and not die, that you are healed because of the stripes on Jesus’ back, that your family is blessed, that all of your needs are met in Him, and that you have a future that is good, not bad. Just believe?.

“As a man believes in his heart, so is he.” Those that come to Him must believe that He Is, and that He rewards those who diligently seek Him. Only believe. God understands that you and I are made of pure dust, after all He made us. You aren’t being called upon to figure it out or understand...Just believe.

More often than not you may find yourself like Jairus in The New Testament, who had a daughter near death. He had heard of Jesus and His Power. So, he went to Jesus to beg for help. Jesus was moved with great compassion to see the love of a father for his own child. The Lord has the same desires for only good and blessings for you and me, the same as this father had for his dying little girl. So Jesus agreed to go to Jairus’ home with him. But, along the way Jesus kept encountering delays. People were huddled everywhere, it seemed, crying out for prayer and healing from Jesus. On the way there, a messenger came from Jairus’ home to tell him that there was no need to trouble Jesus any further...the little girl was dead. The worst news of all had come. But, Jesus said to Jairus..."Just believe?." Jesus went on to that home, spoke a Word, and that child rose and was fine.

Jesus Loves you just that same way. Your need is met in Jesus. Whatever it is, He is the Provision, and He is the Answer. He is The Way, for there is no other. Have you accepted Him as Lord and Savior? If not, then confess to God right now that you know you are a sinner and are lost without Him. Tell Him that you repent of sin in your life, and that with His Power you declare that you are turning away from sin right now. Tell God that you believe Jesus died on the cross to pay for your sins, and that you accept Jesus as your own personal Savior, and that you are now making Jesus the Lord of your life.

On the basis of God’s Own Word, if you prayed that prayer and meant it with your heart, you are right now born-again! Tell someone what you have just done. And, ask God to lead you to a Bible based local church where you can begin to learn more and live your new life in Him. Get a Bible and begin reading The Gospel of John, and...Just believe! He Loves You!
