Good News Broadcast

A weekly Radio Broadcast is blanketing Eastern Tennessee and being sent worldwide via Internet Streaming. This Good News Broadcast is used to tell the stories of ordinary people doing extraordinary things in Jesus' Name. It is being produced to Glorify God and to spread the Gospel to hundreds of thousands on each and every broadcast. The Good News Broadcast will be expanded to other areas both nationally and internationally as God provides.

Two examples of True Stories shared on the "Good News Broadcast"

Indiana Suicide Attempt
The motel room was dim. The one small lamp was no match for the spirit of despair and pain that Sandra felt. Her world lay crushed by circumstances, broken promises, bills and a broken heart.

She sat not hearing, not seeing and hardly feeling anything. The gun in her hand though foreign to her grip seemed way to easy to handle. One last act she thought and I will escape the pain of loneliness and failure.

She was sorry to cause others to suffer with her. She knew someone would have to clean up the mess that she would leave behind and many would not understand her actions. As she began to cry she whispered I’m sorry so sorry but no one understands and there is no other way.

She raised the gun to her head.

Her actions were stopped by a voice, a crying voice behind her. A voice that was loving and gentle. A voice that said, “I wouldn’t do that if I was you lady”. The voice was crying over soft music. She turned to see a man weeping on the television. How did the television get turned on? Then she remembered turning it on when she had entered the room, just a force of habit.

She watched as the man cried again, “I wouldn’t do that if I was you lady” tears running down his face. He was speaking to her. How could he be? How could he know?

She listened as he said, “THERE IS HOPE FOR THE HOPELESS”. Sandra thought if only that could be true. Then he spoke the answer. “God loves you and he knows your pain and hurt. He loves you more than you could ever imagine and He is there right now to give you peace.”

A door opened for a moment in Sandra’s heart and a light of love so glorious that she felt like it would blind, her gently entered in. The gun slipped to the floor as Sandra fell to her knees. Is it true? Do you really love me and do you really understand? A quiet inner voice spoke and said, “Sandra I have always loved you and I have longed to hold you and tell you that you are not alone.”

Sandra cried and whispered but you don’t know how bad I have been or how bad my life is now. She cried my life is a mess. How could you love me?

The gentle love of God cried I’ve loved you from the very beginning of time and while the world was yet sinners I gave my Son for them. My son Jesus brought Good News of Hope to this world so that you too could be my child. I long for you to know that I am bigger than any of your problems. All you have to do is let go and I will make your messes into messages of hope and life for others.

That day in a motel in Indiana Sandra found hope, peace and love in her moment of despair.

Just as the television had been an instrument to bring a message from a minister, the minister had been an instrument to bring a message from God.

The minister didn’t know but God knew. He knew the pain and hurt of one lonely woman who in desperation was about to go down the wrong path. A path of eternal destruction and despair.

God still speaks through instruments and says, “I wouldn’t do that because there is a better way”.

Good news lady there is hope and peace! Good News sir there is solutions to our biggest problems.

Good News, God still takes messes and makes glorious messages.

Good News World God is alive and Jesus is Lord!

The Love of One, Miriam, Glasgow Scotland
Love doesn’t always come with a fanfare or shout sometimes it is a gentle hug or a kind word in season.

I walked into Cortenvale Prison, Scotland. The process of entry was like most maximum-security prisons that I have been in. Guards who walked the fine line for an eight-hour shift went through the normal examination of equipment and people. They walk a line of caution and they are not easily taken in. They were polite but obviously in control. I had been there several times before so there were a few friendly welcomes as I passed through the various control sights.

I thought how they must have seen and heard about every kind of deed that would cause most human hearts to flutter. I know it must be hard to leave such thoughts at work and to not allow them to mold you into a skeptic of all humans. Every person who works in this kind of job truly needs prayer support for them and their family.

The cold corridors and metal doors where not home sweet home but they are home to many women who have broke the law in the United Kingdom.

In escorted groups the women came into the meeting area. Some had smiles of interest and some made it quite obvious that they just saw this as an opportunity to be free from the confines of a cell.

Though the prison is a story, it is not the story. The good news story entered the room in the form of a woman named Miriam.

Miriam is a pastor’s wife. That title alone carries with it an enormous amount of sacrifice and responsibility. Miriam’s husband is the pastor of a very large and spiritually successful church in Glasgow. Putting even greater social pressure upon her from the community and church. On several occasions Queens Park has been the subject of television and radio programs in the United Kingdom.

What most people do not know is the quiet, consistent and loving ministry that Miriam does outside the walls of their beautiful facility.

When she entered the room it became even more evident her impact on those who hurt. Almost all the women of every age acknowledged her with a hello, smile or a hug. They all care for Miriam because she cares about them.

Prostitutes, drug addicts, thieves and murderers are all deserving of love in Miriam’s eyes. She believes this because she knows that they are all loved the same by Her Heavenly Father.

Miriam did not meet a lot of these women first at the prison. She met many of them in the cold rainy nights of Scotland on the street corners of Glasgow. In the early mornings while others slept Miriam and a small army of one or two others brought blankets, soup and none condemning love to prostitutes and the homeless.

There are many who find the peace and saving grace of the Lord Jesus.

Changed lives come to fill the pews of the church. Those who end up in Cortenvale prison are visited by Miriam and are encouraged to find truth, believe and hold on to the deeper love that Miriam has found in the Lord. There is no arm twisting. Many of these women have already been abused and exiled like lepers by some. They don’t need to be told how bad life is or can be. Miriam brings hope in a smile and a hug.

On one trip while at the Queens Park church a young woman came up to me and said, “You probably don’t know me”. I acknowledged that I didn’t remember her.

She looked like any other joyful and successful young woman.

Tears filled her eyes and she said, I was in Cortenvale prison when you came. And she said, “They had taken my little girl and my mother and my sister would not talk to me. I sat there that day lost and without hope but I gave my heart to Jesus sitting there and she turned and pointed with a teary smile at two woman and a beautiful little girl. There is my mother, there is my sister and there is my little girl. We belong to this church now.”

Thank you Miriam it was your blankets, soup and non-condemning love that opened the door. Like our Lord you sat down with Sinners and showed them Our Father’s love.

Good News world there are many Miriam’s still passing out love on the corners of pain and they are seeing a harvest.

Good News Love is still available to all who open the door.

A Historic Gathering
The Great Commission Coalition, a Tennessee based Christian Ministry organization is hosting a meeting with the JESUS Video staff, which is a Ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ. The purpose is to gain consensus for a State-Wide distribution of JESUS to every home in Tennessee. Christian leaders from across the state will be in attendance to explore this opportunity.

The DVD version of JESUS contains 6 different language versions along with a Children’s version in both Spanish & English. Statewide distributions have been done already in some states and are presently underway in others.

Plans are being made to mail a DVD of “JESUS” to every home in Tennessee. In all over 2.5 million homes will receive the Gospel.

Taken strictly from the Book of Luke this film is the most authentic portrayal of the life of Christ ever produced. Since 1980 literally Billions of people worldwide have seen “JESUS” in their own language, with over 200 Million known decisions to accept Christ. There have been complete saturation mailings of “JESUS” to the states of Alabama (1998), South Carolina (2002), and Hawaii (2003). In addition there are projects underway to mail “JESUS” to every home in North Carolina, Oklahoma, North Dakota, Montana, and Iowa.

There will be an exploratory meeting in Nashville Tennessee at the Legislative Plaza on Tuesday August 26, 2003 at 11:00AM. Leaders from across the state will be invited to gather on this date to consider a saturation mailing of “JESUS” to every home in Tennessee. This will be the greatest Evangelistic outreach in the history of Tennessee.

Tennessee State Senator Mae Beavers has secured meeting room 12/14 for our gathering at the Legislative Plaza across from the Tennessee State Capitol. There will be a complete presentation of the Tennessee JESUS DVD Project and materials will be provided to all attendees. The meeting will begin at 11:00 AM with a free lunch afterward.

Like no other time in human history we have the opportunity, the tool, and the means to give “JESUS” to every home in Tennessee. Let us all redeem the time and do what we have never done before, and receive a harvest that we have never seen for the Glory of God.
